Who’d have thought a party featuring skulls, swords and the colour black could be so much fun?! Of course it wouldn’t be a Party with Claire without a touch of sparkle and that’s what gave this pirate-themed display a vibrant feel. I chose to step away from the traditional black and red palette associated with pirate paraphernalia. Søstrene Grene’s contemporary tableware featuring green-blue tones helped show off the diverse possibilities of such a popular theme for children’s parties.
The table was set against a warm wooden backdrop in-keeping with the party’s nautical nuances. Along with colour-coordinated banners and balloons, a glittery black tablecloth overlain with a large fishnet provided the celebratory vibe. The additional piratey (yes, I know that’s not a real word but it’s a good one) props were a fun feature for the children once they’d polished off the chocolatey goodies presented on the white, skull & crossbones plates.
What better way to finish than for the children to collect their hoard of treasure in a party bag!
