What a treat it was to play a part in this maternity leave send-off!
The lovely Louise is expecting her second child soon and her work colleagues wanted to throw her a cute baby shower on her last day of work.
In a team full of star-bakers it seemed only appropriate to host an afternoon tea with homemade scones, cookies and cakes. With signs of Spring making a welcome appearance and the anticipation of an Easter bundle of joy, I chose a combination of baby pastel colours and bright florals as a backdrop to this sweet scene.
Once again, the wonderful Sostrene Grene didn’t disappoint with its simple, yet elegant party props; the baby-grow and bottles added a fun element to the delicate windmills displayed in pretty plant pots. In keeping with the baby-grow theme, the cupcake toppers gave a wonderful sense of occasion to the decadent vanilla & raspberry cupcakes. The creative @janelindsay1735 supplied the ‘baby themed’ cookies whilst the super tasty triple chocolate cookies were made by the very talented @carolynekin02. Luxurious scones complete with jam and cream were freshly baked that morning by supermum @SmythMcCann.
Colourful wooden cutlery held together with string and a pretty hessian flower sat perfectly on the flowery tablecloth contrasting with plain crockery. As you know by now, Party with Claire is a big fan of balloons and bunting so naturally both made an appearance at this event! It was brought to my attention that the guest of honour has quite the penchant for a certain type of creamy, chocolate egg, so each guest received their creme egg in a bespoke stamped cardboard gift box.
As always, it was a delight to play my part in the celebration of a little one. Looking forward to meeting him/her in person sometime soon!
